The more widespread a certain phenomenon is—the more fantasies and guesses it gives birth to. We desperately need truth to stop this “myth-making” guesswork. Today we want to focus on joint diseases.

Myth No. 1. Pain in the Joints Concerns Only Seniors

stat enjoy zablujd1This statement is completely false. Firstly, the type of joint disease is of the significant importance. Degenrative-distrophic diseases, including the infamous arthrosis, do target older people more often: with age joint mobility decreases, interarticular cartilages lose their elasticity and “wear out”. Whereas joint inflammatory diseases (rheumatoid arthritis, Reiter disease, Bechterew's disease) can target people of any age, even kids. The most dangerous arthritis type—rheumatoid arthritis—usually affects 35-45 year old people. Doctors warn that if one takes no measures to cure arthritis, onecan become an invalid in 1 or 2 years.
Secondly, the 21st century erased age limits for joint diseases: more and more often young people in their full strength fall victims to joint diseases, not pensioners. The same it true about arthrosis that nowadays targets even 20-year olds.
There are plenty of reasons for that. For example, the lack of proper load on joints due to the fact that modern people move too little and don’t do enough exercise, or avoid giving proper strain to joints in a gym or while practicing active sports that are so popular nowadays. This situation is worsened by the problem of excessive weight, sedentary work and—as a result—incorrect posture, metabolism problems, unbalanced diet, chronic stress, injuries and numerous other problems. According to recent epidemiological surveys, joint pathologies appear in 50% of cases after the age of 40, and in 90% cases—after the age of 70, and these numbers grow annually. This is why the World Health Organization has announced the first ten years of the new century as the decade of fighting musculoskeletal system diseases. Unfortunately, this battle is still in progress.

Myth No.2. Musculoskeletal System Diseases Usually Target Men

As it turns out, “the weaker sex” is in this case indeedweaker. Women are prone to musculoskeletal system diseases, especially to rheumatic diseases, even more than men. This is due to the specific defense mechanism, developed in the women’s organism in the course of evolution. Quite often it provokes extremely acute immunoreactions for various inflammatory processes in the body, especially after the menopause, when women’s natural hormone protection is at its lowest.
Men, however, have their own weaknesses: the “stronger sex” more often suffers from infectious Reiter disease and Bechterew's disease that affect the ligamentous apparatus of the spine.

Myth No. 3. Joint Diseases Mainly Result from Injuries and Heavy Overloads

stat enjoy zablujd2This statement is true only in part. With constant and significant overloads on joints, such as hard physical or sports activity, articular cartilage wears out and gets traumatized, which constitutes a serious risk. Even a one-time injury (like joint displacement, ligamentous rupture, adjoining joint bones fracture, etc.) can provoke arthrosis. Repeated injuries and chronic micro-traumas are especially dangerous. That is why arthrosis is often associated with certain professions: for example, knee joint lesion of miners, elbow and shoulder joints lesion of tennis players, deformation of foot and shin joints of ballet dancers.
However the statistics show that every third person in the world suffers from joint diseases. Are all of them ballet dancers or sportsmen? Of course, no. As a matter of fact, medical science has pointed out a whole bunch of reasons due to which none of us is secure from joint diseases.
Lack of motion or hypodynamia lead to joints’ premature ageing. However, from the medical viewpoint, this “deviation” has become almost normal for an average individual of modern big cities. Apart from that, the surveys have shown that just one week spent in bed decreases the strength of joints and bones by 15%.
Genetic predisposition plays its part as well. Arthrosis cannot be inherited, but the peculiarities of metabolism, cartilaginous tissue structure, and osseous system’s weakness can be passed from parents to children through chromosomes. Arthritis can develop as a result of a past infection, whereas arthrosis is often provoked not only by traumas and injuries, but also by endocrine diseases, hormonal changes, metabolism disfunction, improper diet, excessive weight.
The Biomechanics Laboratory of the Berlin University Orthopedic Hospital has surveyed joint load experienced by humans. The survey has shown that while standing we are loaded with 80-100% of our body weight, while walking this load increases up to 300%, while fast walking and running – up to 300-500%. So while fast walking and running knee and hip joints experience threeto five times bigger load than the body weight. This means that leg joints of stout people whose weight is 120-150 kg experience 400-700 kg load with every step they make! While a person is young, their cartilaginous tissue can still bear such extensive load, with the age, however, it gets more and more difficult for the joints to bear those extra kilos.
People suffering from pain in the joints should be particularly cautious if they experience chronic stress or continuous negative feelings. It might sound strange, but biochemists and physiologists have long ago discovered that in such stressful periods human and animal adrenals secrete an excessive amount of corticosteroid hormones. In its turn, it leads to capillary permeability reduction, joint blood supply deterioration, and decrease of hyaluronic acid secretion which is an important ingredient of synovial fluid (“sinew-water”). Apart from that, patients feel worse, immunodefense deteriorates. In such moments, critical for one’s health, it is highly recommended to take natural sedatives, such as, for example, Vision “Antistress” food supplement. Thus the most “psychosomatic” joints, showing the biggest sensitiveness for continuous stresses, are knee and hip joints.
In most cases, as medics have resolved, pain in joints is caused by a number of reasons, and most often there is a certain decisive combination of 2-3 or more causes.

Myth No. 4. Surgery is the Most Effective Method Treating Joint Diseases

In reality, surgery is acceptable only in hopeless, ultimate cases. Doctors warn that surgery is always a great shock for the body and it is better to avoid it if there are any other alternative treatment methods. There are some cases when arthrosis can be a result of an unsuccessful surgery. Apart from that, surgery is always quite expensive.
There is a much more efficient and wholesome way for your health—carefully and timely consider the pain character, do not ignore the very first signals from your body, do not neglect the disease, start treatment of joint diseases under the supervision of an experienced rheumatologist as soon as possible, and carry out the overall preventive measures and treatment. It is better to avoid excessive musculoskeletal system loading and regularly practice sports which are most useful for this—walking and swimming. It is necessary to optimize diet, enrich it with vitamins, minerals, especially those with antioxidant properties, use anti-inflammatory medicines for external applications, like ointments, gels, creams (preferably natural and plant-based), not only eliminating the areal inflammation, but also relieving pain and stimulating the articular cartilage regeneration.

Myth No. 5. Diet does not Influence Joint Condition

As a matter of fact, correct, well-balanced food, enriched with nutrients that are good for the joints, does not only secure the health of the musculoskeletal system, but can also play an important part in the disease prevention and treatment of the joints. Even healthy joints, due to the body structure, get only a small amount of nutrients and need them even more if any pathological changes set in. In this case biologically active substances are the most useful, because they are able to strengthen the immune system, reduce inflammatory processes, fight the destructive action of free radicals and renew the joint articular cartilage.
More and more often scientists voice the opinion that diet correction along with the intake of specific high quality food supplements with food, and metabolism control can altogether not only relieve pain, but even eliminate the cause of joint degeneration and renew its lost functions.
As joint tissues are too sensitive to both internal and external action, it is better to make them as healthy as possible. This is why scientists of the Vision DEM4 laboratory have created the EnjoyNT product duo that realizes this smart approach to joint disease treatment: warming gel EnjoyNT works externally to produce a positive effect right at the area of inflammation, and the new EnjoyNT food supplement is intended to work from within in order to support joint health and general wellbeing of the body though its regenerating, anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties.

Our Highlights

EnjoyNT food supplement fights connective tissue destruction, helps to preserve its integrity, ensures cartilage and synovia regeneration, keeping the joints within the physiological norm.
Ingredients:
Glucosamine promotes faster restoration of the damaged cartilage and prevents its destruction.
Chondroitin serves as the building material for generating new healthy cartilaginous tissue.
MSM (methylsulfonylmethane) has an anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effect. Sustains healthy state of the cartilaginous tissue.
Bamboo extract stimulates collagen synthesis in bones and connective tissues, takes part in cartilage regeneration. Providing for the active re-mineralization of bones this extract is also capable of bone tissue depletion, thus protecting it from the age-conditioned fractures, of which cervical hip fracture is the most dangerous.
